On Downwind - The biggest VFR event of the year

On Downwind is the biggest event based on VFR and general aviation flying of the year in Finland and Estonia. The event will be organized on 3rd September from 10:00 to 15:00 UTC.

The air traffic control of the base airport in the event, Helsinki-Malmi (EFHF), will be fully staffed for whole event. Also Helsinki radar (EFHK_APP) and other airports of the event, Lappeenranta (EFLP), Turku (EFTU) and Tallinn in Estonia (EETN) will provide air traffic control services.

You can choose either flight between staffed airports or some local flying in vicinity of Malmi - it's up to you! However, if you fly two round trips from Malmi to any of airports of the event (EFLP, EFTU and EETN) you will be given Aviation Celebration Tours and Events Award. Flights should be reported to fi-ec@ivao.aero. The report should contain your ID and call signs used on your flights. The flight plan should be filled carefully - flights with incorrect flight plan will not be accepted.
